Jerry the Bear got the Hollywood treatment this week as Jerry's makers, Sproutel, launched a compelling video showing the powerful impact products like Jerry can have on children with chronic diseases.  If you know the greater Betaspring family, you'll enjoy the cameo from Angelo Pitassi, CEO of Betaspring alum HealthID Profile and his son, Angelo Jr. The Pitassi family was one of the early testers and Angelo Jr was an important souce of insights as Sproutel CEO Aaron Horowitz and Chief Design Officer Hannah Chung designed and tested dozens of prototypes.  Jerry and his makers have been on a roll and the team is jazzed to begin production of the first official "run" of Jerry bears this month. A few weeks ago. Sproutel won the Patients 2.0 Shark Tank competition at the annual Health2.0 conference in califormia and the good news for Sproutel just keeps coming! Watch the...

We were lucky to have the Boston Globe's Scott Kirsner in the house this week to preview the 13 companies that will be presenting at Launch Day. Scott spent some time with us in Providence, watching pitches and joining in for Providence Startup Drinks later that night.  Scott has been covering the New England tech scene for more than a decade and it's always fun to have in Providence for a night. His observations and reporting on this Fall's companies is interesting and he makes a few bets on what some ideas might hit it big.  Thanks, Scott.   Read it now.
